Powerful Software for Data Import, Export, and Conversion
Press release from November 8, 2012
FlowHeater GmbH has released FlowHeater Designer v. 2.5, a powerful Windows application that imports, dynamically converts, and exports data. Unlike complicated data conversion software, FlowHeater Designer offers a simple way to transfer data between all popular database formats. Your programming staff can train your end-users to do much of the design and conversion work. Using an intuitive graphical user interface to define the modifications needed to transform your data, you simply move it from place to place. FlowHeater Designer streamlines data conversion, and eliminates cost overruns and missed deadlines.
Version 2.5 supports SQLite and PostgreSQL, in addition to text (CSV), MS Excel, MS Access, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle databases, and any ODBC data source. FlowHeater Designer does much more than convert fields from one database to another. While moving between formats, it's easy to manipulate text files, perform calculations on arithmetic fields, and adjust dates and times. You can perform if-then-else logic, consolidate data, turn a single record into multiple records, and alter the sequence of the records. With no programming knowledge, users can perform the real-world conversion tasks that ordinarily require a team of programmers and end-users. FlowHeater Designer can often reduce application development time by weeks or months.
Advanced users will appreciate FlowHeater Designer's support of .NET data tables. This functionality allows developers to add .NET programming into the FlowHeater Designer process. It also supports including FlowHeater Designer functionality in custom .NET programs.
FlowHeater Designer includes a module that is dedicated to the generation of test data. It's easy to create a large file of test records that contains any combination of static and dynamic content. FlowHeater Designer eliminates the need to create test records manually.
Whether you're a technical manager who wants to provide your end-users with the tools necessary to convert their data from a legacy program to tomorrow's new system, a computer consultant who needs to convert your customers' data to run on software on a new platform, or a project manager who needs an orderly, efficient way to create test data for a new system, FlowHeater Designer has the tools that you need.
FlowHeater Designer v. 2.5 runs under Windows 2000 (Workstation or Server), XP, 2003 Server, Vista, 2008 Server, or Windows 7, and requires .NET Framework 2.0 or newer. A single-user license costs $99(US).
FlowHeater Designer + Batch costs $199 and includes a batch module for automated, scheduled execution. The feature-limited Freeware version, with the ability to process up to 10,000 records, is available without charge.
Customers who purchase v. 2.5 will be able to upgrade to version 3.0 in early 2013, at no cost. Version 3.0 will include the use of multiple steps in each import or export operation. And each step can include more than one conversion operation. For example, you can read a text file and join it together with an Excel file, in a single run of FlowHeater Designer. Version 3.0 will also feature Oracle imports, exports, and conversions, without the need for an Oracle Client to be installed.
