Connect to Quickbooks using QODBC driver was created by David Anderson
I have wanted to extract data from several Quickbooks files on a nightly basis and transfer the data to
SQL Server
.
I have been able to connect Flowheater 64bit version to Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise 2024 by using the Intuit QODBC driver and QRemote for Quickbooks Client. First, I had to create a 32-bit version QODBC Driver DSN for each Quickbooks company that I administer. Then, I had to create a 64-bit QRemote DSN for each Quickbooks company referencing the 32-bit QOBDC DSN and the IP address from the QRemote server installation. In the FlowHeater ODBC Adapter , I referenced the QRemote DSN for each company. Finally, I created a Windows Task scheduler to run each FlowHeater routine using FH Batch . It works, but is complex. Does anybody have a more straightforward approach?

Hi David,
I´m not so familiar with Quickbooks files and QODBC entries but I guess you could use the FlowHeater 32 Bit version instead of the 64 Bit?
Please note) You may install and use both versions in parallel. The latest installed version is the version they start in case you DoubleClick a FlowHeater Definition file in the windows file explorer.

Actually, I used the 64-bit version of FlowHeater.

Yes I know. I guess if you use the 32 bit version you can save the mapping from 32 to 64 bit QODBC entries?

I tried using the 32-bit version of QODBC driver, but I received an error message of ERROR [24000] [QODBC] Invalid Cursor State. Bracketing the field name did not solve the issue, ie "SELECT * FROM [fieldname].

Hi David,
In case of using the 32 Bit FlowHeater version you also have to use the 32 Bit Quickbooks ODBC entry for DSN data source.
Do you have used the entry “DSN=AHRE_QB_Data32”?
