Adapter/Feld Eigenschaften übernehmen - Templates
Hi Robert,
We keep running into the issue where we have the same structures on the WRITE side but different structures on the READ side—or vice versa—some of which consist of 50–100 fields. I can use an old definition, but I always have to rebuild a page from scratch. It would be great if we could export the field structure and import it into a new definition. Then I could extract the READ and WRITE structures from two old definitions and import them into the new one accordingly. That way, I could also import a READ structure into a WRITE structure—or vice versa. That would save a lot of time.
We import from Diamant and export to Varial, or from Varial to DATEV, or from DATEV to Varial. Currently, we have projects that require a total of at least 30 different definitions involving Varial, DATEV, and Diamant.
Maybe you can find a solution!
Best regards,
Kai

Hi Kai,
Thank you very much for your suggestion for improvement, which I immediately took on board and implemented. In the current version, you can apply the settings from any adapter, with or without fields. You can also save “Adapter templates” that you can then apply. Additionally, you can apply settings via the clipboard.
The key to this is always the context menu, which you can access by right-clicking on the Adapter . Here, you can perform the following actions:

- Copy: The adapter, including the field properties, is copied to the clipboard. This can then be used in step 3)
- Save as Template: The adapter, including the field properties, is saved as a template and can also be used in step 3)
- Apply Settings From: This opens the following dialog (see screenshot), where you can select exactly what should be applied
